Bethells Beach / Te Henga is a beautiful but unpredictable beach. If you see someone in trouble in the water, call 111 immediately and ask for Police - they will alert Surf Life Saving and coordinate the rescue. Don't wait to see if someone else has called. Just call.
Our beach is patrolled by volunteer lifeguards on weekends and public holidays through the summer season, with a paid lifeguard service on weekdays during peak summer.
Outside patrolled hours, there are no lifeguards on the beach. If you need help, call 111 and ask for Police.
