The role of the club president is to lead our club.
Sue is a great representative for our club, she knows the inner workings
of surf politics, she has the patience of a saint, and everybody loves her.
The role of the vice president is to assist the president with their many duties.
The vice president will attend meetings when the president is unavailable due to meetings with Dr. Ashley Bloomfield or is busy donning her superhero outfit and creating world peace.
The role of the club captain is to oversee patrolling operations.
The club captain creates the patrol lists and coordinates with the other committee members to ensure patrol operates effectively.
The role of the secretary is primarily to provide assistance and support to the committee. The secretary often gets lumped with other random duties as well, so Bri is the person to see for patrolling uniforms, club bookings, and midwifery.
Mike is the money man.
The man who has the unwanted task of balancing the books.
Long-time treasurer Mike is looking for an assistant treasurer, so if you are keen to help, drop Mike an email.
The role of the club custodian is to look after the club building and grounds.
Sam's main pastimes are hammering down nails in the deck and removing prickles from the grass by offering his own feet up as a sacrifice.
Sam's hobbies include spell-checking things.

PIA LAUREN HARPOUR & PARYS SMITH
The Chief Instructor role at Bethells is shared by Parys Smith and Pia Harpour. Chiefinstructor@bethellsbeach.org.nz is where to go if you want to gain surf lifeguard qualifications or for a chat if you are keen to start your surf life-saving story!
The membership coordinator spends their lives in databases, so many databases.
Jeanette knows what your qualifications are, what your date of birth is,
what patrol you are in, whether you have paid subs, and what you ate for breakfast.
Health & Safety Officer
The health and safety officer records and reviews incidents involving harm.
You should report any hazards or incidents to Adi, if in doubt, contact Adi, he wont bite.
Events & Retention Manager
As events and retention officer, my role is to organize and deliver social opportunities for our club. Whether these are activities, a casual get-together, or team bonding events. Working with different areas of the club to provide opportunities for our members to come together and create an inclusive, positive environment people want to be a part of. Having opportunities for the club to build a relationship with each other in different ways is a great way to keep people in the club and have long-lasting friendships.
The sports manager looks after the senior sport, advising dates of carnivals and helping with registration. If you are interested in competing for Bethells, please reach out to Kael.
The fundraising officer finds new creative ways of making people and companies part with their money to fund the important work that we do, keeping beachgoers safe. If you know of a person or company willing to support the club, let Dave know.
The powercraft officer primarily looks after the IRB's.
As an esteemed IRB racer in his own right, and working for Rayglass Boats
Dylan knows a thing or two about engine maintenance.
If you notice any issues with engines, please record them in the IRB logbook
and on the board, and email Dylan.
Junior Club Captain
+ Rookie Coordinator
The junior club captain is a role model for under 18 guards. Paige works with them with any issues or questions they have and organizes exchanges to gain experience for the club. As the Rookie coordinator, she trains 13-year-old guards up to a lifeguard standard so they are able to sit their lifeguard exam once turning 14.
First Aid Officer
Luke is one of the many in-house paramedics we have and looks after our amazing first aid room, first aid kits, and any emergency medical care gear we use.
If you find anything broken, missing, or have any first aid questions do not hesitate to hunt him down and pick his brains, he is always happy to have a chat and teach anyone.
